Community Supported Agriculture Palmerston North

A community-supported agriculture scheme (CSA) is a way for a community to support a farm--to invest in harvest shares and in return receive deliveries of fresh, organically grown vegetables each week. The farmers no longer need rely heavily on wholesalers, distributors and retail outfits to sell their produce, but instead can focus on growing to the requirements of their community of subscribers. Consumers have a direct connection with the farm where their food is grown and feel a part of the project through regular newsletters, farm days and the ability to provide feedback and input for future farm planning. Wairarapa Eco Farms produces the CSA's vegetables, fruit, eggs and apple juice in the Wairarapa. Produce is ecologically grown and certified organic and delivered weekly.

Palmerston North has a drop-off point for the Wairarapa Eco Farms CSA produce. Each Thursday fresh produce is couriered to Palmerston North. Members collect their harvest bags that evening from a pick up point--currently a garage belonging to one of our members.
