Practical, interactive workshops on living a sustainable, connected life. This series is offered as a whole package. Through coming together over eight workshops, you have the opportunity to build community resilience and strengthen local connections.

Topics being covered over the series
Gardening 1: composting practical (different time and venue for practical)
Natural ways to fertilize our gardens and maintain healthy crops, with hands on outdoor activities (weather permitting).
Gardening 2: growing your own food
The basics of gardening including working with soil and the elements, including a practical demonstration of how to grow from seed.
Healthy Food Choices made Easy
Food is central to life. We will consider food choices that are healthy for us and our planet.
Protecting our water
Relating to our water and where it comes from, considering practical ways to contribute to caring for our water sources through our daily choices.
Warm, dry, energy efficient Homes:
Tips, info and advice on ways to keep our homes warm, dry and healthy and save on energy sources.
Minimizing Waste: reduce, reuse, recycle
Learn about our Council's resource recovery systems and the ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle to keep items out of landfill.
Household Emergency Planning: preparing for natural disasters and hazards
First hand tips and insights about the realities of living through a natural disaster and empowering ways to plan and prepare for resilience.
